]]>This week we were fortunate enough to have the founders of Holi Scoops🍦Jenna and Camille on the show to discuss their journey into the health foods market 🙌. Join us on this week's episode as we break down a brand that is absolutely sweeping 🏄♀️ the nutritional market with its sinfully delicious treats, and find out more about the company's journey since its inception.
A message from the founders of Holi Scoops:
After various health setbacks, we both knew the way we consumed our food had to change. Everywhere we looked, we found sweets focused on minimizing - less calories, less fat, less guilt - which meant less flavor and way less satisfaction.
The question arose: How do we bring more to our freezers without settling for less?
We set out to create a product that was better than "better for you," never sacrificing flavor. And after years of continuous formulation, we made something Holi.
We created Holi Scoops with a mission to feed our body and soul mindfully, using healing adaptogen plants and nutrient dense ingredients to prioritize health, while never skimping on indulgence.

Chuck Casano founded Pitaya Foods in 2010 with the goal in mind of launching a mission-based brand that’s committed to promoting sustainable farming, supporting the communities they source from, and producing the healthiest products possible.
After leaving the concrete jungle of Manhattan during the 2008 financial crisis, Chuck Casano ventured to Nicaragua where he discovered an untapped resource for organic produce. Chuck’s biggest concern though was supporting the local farmers by connecting them to the United States market.
Fast forward to 2022, Chuck continues to honor his founding vision. Stepping foot in Nicaragua was Chuck’s CanDo moment, but working alongside his motivational team has proved to him that CanDo moments happen every day.
]]>As part of our 2nd Annual National CanDo Day, CanDoers have been submitting their CanDo story as part of the #CanDoChallenge.
Here's Mahi's story: “She’s actually pretty good” announced the grown men in my local gym when I expressed interest in joining their pickup game. Even after they allowed me to join, they hesitated while passing the ball to me because they feared I would “get hurt.” I learned firsthand about the negative connotations placed upon girls who play basketball. Then, during my tryouts for the local girls' league, I was judged for my skin color. As Indians are stereotyped to perform poorly in sports, people often assumed my athletic ability to be lower than others before I even stepped on the floor. However, someone’s narrative empowered me to persevere. Stephen Curry’s story inspired me. When I saw him playing for the first time, I couldn't believe anyone could play basketball like that; he brought out a passion I had for the game I never knew existed. In 4th grade, I listened to his story about how he was not heavily recruited in college, but he overcame adversity and became one of the greatest shooters of all time by working hard. From that day on, I learned to disregard others' perceptions of me and embrace the grind. Curry’s story helped me realize my love for basketball, and that is what inspired me to share the story of leaders in our community, to inspire some other girl out there, just like he inspired me. That's why I created the She Can Ball podcast, a show designed to uplift marginalized members of the female basketball community. Through conversations with remarkable college athletes, WNBA players, sports journalists, coaches, and other trailblazers, She Can Ball aims to provide girls with the necessary resources and motivation to become the best version of themselves both on and off the court. I wanted to create a resource that would encourage young girls that are passionate about basketball to stay in the sport by learning from the experiences and advice from those who have been successful in the sports industry. My women’s basketball community, my coaches and teammates have molded me into the person I am today. They have taught me how to deal with pressure, take charge as a leader, and have given me a sense of belonging. It is what my community has provided that compels me to give back to it through amplifying marginalized voices in the women’s sports community. Harnessing over five thousand listens spanning across 28 different countries, I hope to support as many young girls as possible to shatter society’s expectations.

From the age of 4, Gabriel put in work on the courts to build his athleticism, and in the process became passionate about pickleball and tennis. After years of mastering these sports, he’s turned his attention to develop other athletes’ potential as a pro coach. The inclusivity of the pickleball sport and the love he feels among his niche community motivates Gabriel to overcome adversity, no matter the size.
His biggest CanDo moment was pushing his limits during a tournament and ending as one of the top players. But it doesn’t stop there—he applies this lesson he learned from the game to his own life. We can all learn a little something about persistence from Gabriel.

In this episode, we talk to keto personality and lava refugee, Nina. Nina discusses how a volcano erupted in her neighborhood in Hawaii, causing her to flee her home, and how she used that life altering experience as a conduit for change. 🏃♀️🏚
She discusses the parallel of the destruction of a eruption and how she overcame obstacles in life including chronic pain, disability, a volatile childhood in which she developed destructive eating habits - and a diabetes diagnosis - and how the culmination of these factors hit a tipping point which propelled her into a desperate need for a lifestyle change. 🍎
She also discusses her family history of diabetes and how she broke the chain while healing her life’s trauma through a ketogenic lifestyle, self discovery, bio hacking and a positive mindset.
Using the destruction as an opportunity for creation, Nina lost 80 pounds and adopted a completely new healthy lifestyle overcoming all odds.
She reminds us that sometimes we have to be torn apart in order to be rebuilt, and how like seeds sometimes we have to be buried in a dark place before we fight our way to the light & bloom.

As a C-4 quadriplegic, Marc Strohmaier (aka Maya’s human) has used his time avoiding COVID-19 wisely by launching a webpage/blog (USAbled.com) focused on helping ANYONE overcome obstacles - but is specifically directed at a younger version of himself, and others like him - who will benefit from the wisdom, tips & tricks drawn from first-hand experience Battling the Bullsh*t associated with navigating 30+ years in a wheelchair. With a desire to write & teach, this form of “narrative therapy” has inspired a renewed sense of purpose, leading him to Dominate the Day as an educator and has already lead to some new adventures & experiences - like appearing on the CanDo Podcast!
Marc’s Junior year of high school was upended after a soul-crushing car accident left him in a wheelchair. Following a long period of anger, denial & self-loathing, Marc moved from CA to AZ in 1995, where he re-invented himself at Arizona State University by surrounding himself with an amazing tribe (including Adam), who helped him earn some much-deserved confidence. After graduating from ASU, he went back to school to become a high school football coach & teacher. After some amazing successes on & off the field, a serious health issue threw a wrench in things, but thankfully a strong support system keeps him in the fast-lane on the long road to recovery and he can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
