Bonnie: It feels amazing to inspire her to live a better, fuller, more fit life.
As part of our annual national cando day candoers have been submitting their story as part of the #CanDoChallenge.
Here's Bonnie Lee's story:
I started my weightloss and fitness journey in 2018, after having lost 50+ pounds from March 2018 to November 2018, I started running and fell in love with it! My first ever race was a 5k Turkey Trot in 2018, and I've set out to run it (virtually in 2020 because of the pandemic) every year since!
During the Covid pandemic that swept the nation, when New York City became a ghost town and we were all sheltered in place to ride out this virus that devastated the world. I took it upon myself to just keep running. Why limit myself to just 3.1 miles?
I can run farther!!
So I took to training. I ran my first ever half-marathon in 2021 (virtually) running the Chicago Half 13.1 miles in September.
I got my 9yo daughter into running, too! She's run FOUR 5k races with me, and I couldn't be prouder of her. It feels amazing to inspire her to live a better, fuller, more fit life with running.
This year I committed to running this year's TCS NYC Marathon in October of 2022! It will be my first ever FULL 26.2 mile marathon run, and I look forward to training for it. With a good diet, living the ketogenic lifestyle, supported by healthy snacks like KetoKrisp bars by CanDo!
